Interior design with character and a story to tell

Welcome to Miss J’s Place (MJP) — a warm inviting space where interior design is curated and celebrated. We provide interior design inspiration and sell home décor items.

Inspired by Ghana’s majestic kente cloth, we developed the Kente Design Concept — a creative principle that brings the essence of this iconic textile into the world of interior design.

Each Kente cloth tells a story. The colours and patterns are carefully chosen to express emotions, messages, and cultural meanings. No two pieces are the same — every cloth is handmade, unique, and full of character.

The Kente Design Concept celebrates meaning and uniqueness by thoughtfully combining pieces, highlighting one-of-a-kind finds, reimagining how items are placed and how rooms are laid out, creating interior design ideas that feel meaningful and personal.

This African-inspired approach redefines traditional ideas of African interior design, moving past clichés to explore new possibilities and set a fresh direction for the industry.

Inspiration

Encouraging new ways of thinking about a space. Drawing ideas from different places, going beyond the norm, seeing how random things can be juxtaposed to inform plans and lead to the creation of spaces full of life and interest.

Design

Shapes, tones and items interact to form a live picture. Through this collaboration of elements, a room becomes a reflection of emotions and thoughts offering a platform for creativity.

Curation

Images and items are carefully selected, each chosen for the story they tell or the feelings they evoke.
